The Great Gatsby Novel: Why does Nick feel that Daisy is trying to show off her cynicism?
Nick believes this by the way that Daisy acts. The whole time he talks to her, she seems determined to undermine him. Like the whole " i wished my daughter to be an ignorant little fool." I suppose it could be because she was trying to seem smarter than she really is... Sorry if this doesn't make any sense, i dont know how to explain myself..
