I'm interested in a Daisy Dog. What is the downside of owning one?

A friend told me that they don't sleep at night? I have my doubts about that one, but that's what she heard. Makes no sense to me. Do they have allergies? Bark a lot? Skin disorders? Do they bite? Easy to train?

I'm interested in a Daisy Dog. What is the downside of owning one?
All dogs sleep, any dog can get allergies/ skin problems, barking varies on training, biting varies on training, and if their easy to train or not varies dog to dog.

A "Daisy Dog" is a mixed breed, also known as a mutt. There is absolutely no guaranteed characteristics with any mixed breed.

A reliable breeder will not have them either, as no reputable breeder will breed mutts.

I had to google "Daisy Dogs" to figure out what they were even. Apparently they are Bichon Frise x Poodle x Shih-Tzu mixes.
Reply:their is such thing as a daisy dog I have on they are fantstic dogs there is only one breeder and she is VERY good, I would highly recommend her. Report It

Reply:and also they are NOT bichon-poodle-shitzu the breeder does not tell what they are because she doesn't want others to steal the mix Report It

Reply:What you're referring to is a bichon/poodle/shih-zu hybrid. I would say NO with sooooo many breeds like that put into one. You are likely to have ALOT of health problems. "designer breeds" are just that. And most of them are from BYBs just trying to make some money by slapping a "cute" name on a mutt. You're better off getting a dog from a shelter! Or even a purebred when you KNOW what you're getting in to and what to expect.

PS....PENNYSAVIOR2002...IF YOU'RE GONNA QUOTE SOMETHING DON'T PLAGIARIZE. TELL PEOPLE THE SOURCE WHERE YOU GOT IT FROM CAUSE YOU DIDN'T KNOW ALL THAT STUFF!!!!
Reply:I have never heard of a "daisy dog". I went and checked out the link Tiffy provided, and have to say, you can get a mutt that looks like that anywhere at any shelter or rescue. Why pay top dollar for a fancy name?
Reply:I ditto fetchdog! Never heard of a Daisy Dog!

Thankx for info Tiffy! Gotta ditto her answer now, too!
Reply:please clarify what a "daisy dog" is.....

if it's a mutt like everybody seems to think it would be impossible to predict any of the things you listed, except for the sleeping at night bizarro question....
Reply:Well, they are a mix so whatever each of the breeds has problems with you could be getting. Not only that but it could be worse because when you mix 2 or more diff. breeds together that have some of the same problems (allergies, etc.) you are compounding the problem. Please tell me you are looking at a dog from a rescue or a shelter? If you are not, shame on you, these "Designer" dogs are just high priced mixed breeds and should not have been bred and the people who breed them are idiots! Aren't the dog pounds and rescues in this country full of them already? Please make sure you are saving a life and not putting money into the pockets of the byb and puppy mills of the world! Thanks and bless! =0)
Reply:What are you talking about? Can you please edit and explain what a daisy dog is? I been in the pet business for 22 years have never heard of this dog.

Edit...Whats with all this putting names on mutts. You can put all the fancy labels on it you want but it's still a mutt..So there is no way to know how it will be...
Reply:Sorry I have no idea what a Daisy dog is, can you give a breed ?
Reply:umm....i this is to those who don't know what a daisydog is ...it is a dog mixed with poodle and dachsund.....and i never owned one but remember that all dogs r DIFFERENT
Reply:My girlfriend has a Daisy Dog, and she is super cute! When my kids and I were visiting from out of town, that dog slept with us all night. This dog was kind of hyper though and needed a lot of activity. I don't know about the allergies, though.
Reply:The Daisy Dog is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Bichon Frise /Poodle/Shih-Tzu. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.
Reply:What are you on about??

No such breed as a daisy dog - is this some new designer mutt someone came up with and suddenly declared a viable breed???

Please, go to the AKC website and check breeds - that's all that's legitimate - the rest is a con made up by back yard breeders or puppy mills.
