Why exactly does Gatsby fall in love with Daisy in the first place?

Because to him, she is a "golden girl". I haven't read the book in a while, so others correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he just saw her beauty and the good traits - and didn't really see the bad traits. He just saw her as a "golden girl" with nothing wrong.
