What was the purpose in writing Daisy Miller? Was it written by a naturalist or a realist?

It was written by a naturalist. Nature (in the form of some kind of a germ) was the cause of Daisy's death. Man vs. Nature. The reason the story was written is that was a serious problem for people who took what was called The Grand Tour - rich Americans who travelled at leisure through Europe. Many of them got ill. The purpose in writing Daisy Miller wasn't to warn other rich Americans of the danger of malaria. It was a study of how Europeans viewed Americans.

It was written by a naturalist.
